Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In case of activation of the IP anonymization on these websites, Google will truncate your IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA. On behalf of the website provider, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. The IP address conveyed by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google.

The purposes of data processing are based on the evaluation of your use of the website and compilation of reports on website activity. This is the basis to provide other services relating to the use of the website and Internet. The processing is based on the legitimate interest of the website provider.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Furthermore you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

In addition or as an alternative to the Browser Add-on, you can opt-out from being tracked by Google Analytics on our website by clicking on this link. This website uses Google Maps API from Google Inc. to display geographic information visually. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of map functions by visitors. For further information about Google´s data processing, please see Google’s Privacy Policy. There you can also change your personal date protection settings in the Data Protection Centre.

You can find a comprehensive guide on how to manage your personal data in connection with Google products here.
Embedded YouTube videos

On some of our websites we embed YouTube videos. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which pages you visit. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

If a YouTube video is played, the provider uses cookies to gather information about the user´s behaviour.

If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to deal with such cookies when viewing YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s privacy policy by clicking on this link.
Social plugins

On our website we use Social plugins of the providers listed below. You can recognize the plugins by the corresponding logo.

These plugins may transmit information which may also include personal information to the service provider who may use this information. We prevent the unintentional collection and transmission of data to the service provider by a 2-click solution. In order to activate a desired Social plugin, it needs to be activated by a click on the corresponding button. The collection of information and its transmission to the service provider is only triggered by this activation of the plugin. We do not collect any personal data by the Social plugins or its use.

We have no influence on the data collected by an activated plugin and how this data is used by the provider. Currently, it may be assumed that a direct connection to the services of the provider is expanded as well as, at least, the IP-address and device-specific information are collected and used. There is also the possibility that the service providers attempt to store cookies on the computer used. Please take information on the specific data collected and how it is used from the privacy policies of the corresponding service provider. Note: if you are logged in to Facebook simultaneously, Facebook may identify you as visitor of a certain website.

We have integrated the social media buttons of the following companies on our website:

Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA

Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA

Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
Google Adwords

Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you have reached our website via an ad placed by Google, Google AdWords sets a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad served by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can see that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Therefore, cookies cannot be traced through the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that personally identifies users.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can refuse the setting of a cookie required for this – for example via browser settings that generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies, or set your browser so that cookies are blocked by the “” domain.

Please note that you may not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in your browser, you must set the respective opt-out cookie again.
Changes to our data protection regulations

We reserve the right to occasionally adapt this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply for your next visit.
